Does My Child Need a Dyslexia Assessment?

Parents often come to us when they notice ongoing difficulties with reading, spelling, writing or schoolwork that don’t seem to improve with time or tutoring. You may be seeing:
• slow, effortful reading
• difficulty sounding out words
• guessing words or skipping lines
• trouble remembering spelling patterns
• messy or inconsistent writing
• frustration, avoidance or low confidence with schoolwork
• a big gap between verbal ability and written output

If these signs feel familiar, an assessment can help you understand what’s happening and how to support your child effectively.
