Support After an ADHD Assessment
At the Literacy and Learning Centre, our care doesn’t end with the assessment. Following a diagnosis of ADHD, many families benefit from tailored support services to help children manage challenges such as inattention, emotional regulation, anxiety, and low self-esteem.
We offer a range of evidence-based intervention and support options designed to meet the individual needs of your child and family.
Services Available After Assessment
1. Parenting Support Sessions
We work closely with parents to provide guidance, strategies, and practical tools to help you better understand and support your child’s unique needs. Topics may include behaviour management, supporting attention and focus at home, and improving routines.
2. Child-Focused Sessions
We offer individual sessions for children and teens that address the specific concerns identified in the assessment. These may include:
- Managing inattention and impulsivity
- Improving emotional regulation
- Coping with anxiety
- Building confidence and resilience
Therapy is tailored to your child’s developmental level and goals, and may include cognitive-behavioural strategies, mindfulness, and social-emotional skill building.
3. Medicare Rebates
Some sessions may be eligible for Medicare rebates with a Mental Health Treatment Plan provided by your GP. We can assist you with the information needed to discuss this option with your doctor.
