An initial consultation is a crucial with the Clinical Psychologist is a crucial part of the assessment and therapy process. It provides parents with the opportunity to openly discuss concerns about their child’s learning, behaviour, or development to determine the best way to help their child. Parents may find such a consultation particularly useful if a child presents with a complex history of learning problems, or has previously seen several different professionals (eg, Occupational Therapist, Speech Pathologist etc). A thorough developmental history ensures that your child’s difficulties are accurately identified so that the most appropriate course of therapy, remediation or recommendations are made.

The Literacy and Learning Centre specialises in quality assessment of reading, spelling, and learning difficulties.
The Centre also provides assessment of intellectual ability, giftedness, developmental delay, Autism, Aspergers, Pervasive Development Disorder, ADHD / ADD, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, behaviour problems, and many other problems common in childhood and adolescence.
Our Clinical Psychologist offers support for a range of common childhood problems including:

- Treatment for Anger Management difficulties
- Treatment for ADHD / ADD
- Social Skills training and low self esteem
- Parenting support
The Centre also runs a range of therapy programme from the popular and evidence based “Cool Kids” series developed by Macquarie University. All therapy programmes are run individually or in groups.
